Kwaku Duah Berchie
Mr. Kwaku Duah Berchie
is the Head of Credits for First Allied Savings and Loans Company
Limited. He holds an MBA (Accounting and Finance) from the Keller
Graduate School of Management, Illinois, USA. Prior to this, Mr
Berchie graduated as a Magna cum Laude from the DeVry
University, USA with BSc in Business Administration (Accounting
option) and holds Diploma in Theatre Arts from the School of
Performing Arts, University of Ghana.
Mr Berchie’s professional experience spans several industries and
sectors. He has worked as a Recruiting & Sales Manager with T.M
Audio Inc, an Electronics Sales firm in the USA.
He also has experience in Warehouse Operations as well as Shipping
and Transportation with Mcmaster Carr Supply Company , Account
Payable with John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods all in the USA. Mr
Berchie went on to become a Tour Accountant and Financial Manager
with UniverSoul Circus, USA.
He later became the Founder and CEO of Professional AccounTaxes,
Douglasville, GA USA and an Associate Consultant with Pentax
Management and Consultancy, Accra Ghana.
He is a part-time Lecturer with the Ghana Telecom University
College, Kumasi Campus.
He has attended local
and international training and seminars that has deeply enhanced his
experience and exposure in the banking and microfinance industry.
Among trainings attended are Maximizing Profitability in SME
Lending by Euromoney Training EMFA, Accra Ghana, Market
Research for Microfinance (MR4MF) by MicroSave, Kampala Uganda,
and the African Microfinance Conference in Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia.
Kwaku is a result oriented person whose contribution has helped FASL
in its expansion drive. He developed the APR computation template
for loan officers to comply with Bank of Ghana regulations and also
introduced the use of electronic presentations for the Advances
Committee in its deliberations.
He has been an active
part of the team that trains new hires of FASL. His training areas
are Individual Lending, Risk Management, Finance, and Customer
Service.
He is married with
children.
